Happy 1st Birthday Ameera!

Meet Ameera--the sweetest little girl with the most beee-utiful big brown eyes in the world :) Since I photographed her before and during her birthday party, I was also able to meet her wonderful family. They were all so sweet and helpful when it came to taking her pictures and you can tell she is #1 to them! A special thank you to her grandmother for taking time away from setting up the party to help me get some individual shots of her before the festivities began. Even though the party was in mid-afternoon and the sun was BEAMING, we were able to find some nice little areas of shade that made for great light :) Thank you to all Ameera's family for being so sweet to me! Your little girl is precious :)

Well, my little girl is the big 3! I can't believe it! Here are some things that I think of when I think of Brenna today:

Little Miss Independent--she does what she wants when she wants. Well, at least she tries. That doesn't go very far in our house, but she still tries!!

She plays with the big dawgs--there isn't much she won't try. If big brother can do it, so can she. And believe it or not, she usually figures out a way to do it. :)

She will give me my first gray hair--guaranteed.

She has the sweetest smile, loves to laugh, and loves giving hugs and kisses :)

Mommy loves you Brenna! Happy Birthday Angel!

Lora

You may recognize this little beauty from her family christmas portraits I posted here last year. This is Lora and she just turned 4 in March. Let me tell you a little about our shoot. I thought maybe we could get some shots of her feeding the ducks at this beautiful little park I love--didn't happen. She wouldn't get near the ducks--she just threw the food their direction and yelled at them to "COME HERE!!" Hilarious, but no good pics :) I'm starting to realize that kids don't like getting close to ducks--lesson learned. So we also brought along some balloons to symbolize her birthday and the fact that she loves balloons. That was another interesting adventure. We tied them to her belt loop so they wouldn't fly away and she was more concerned about getting them off than taking pictures with them. When we finally gave in and let her hold them, they were gone in a matter of seconds. Again, lesson learned. But we managed to walk around long enough (sorry, Tara!) and got some cute pics after all. So Happy Belated Birthday Lora!!!

Baby Emery and The Gang

Well, this post is just a bit late--I think Emery will be starting Kindergarten this year....Ha! Ok, I'm late, but I'm not THAT late! Emery's mommy, Angela, lives down the street from a good friend of mine and asked me to photograph her beautiful newborn and family. First of all, I have to say these little girls are as cute as they can be and the older one, Ainsley, can light up a room with that smile of hers!!

We found out that Emery is already Ms. Independent and really didn't want to do anything we wanted her to do, but hey--that's how it goes sometimes! We worked, took some "baby snack breaks", worked some more, read books...until we got some good ones. They turned out really sweet and I hope I get to photograph this wonderful family again!
